Having Issues with Embedded videos

Hi, is anyone else having issues getting embedded videos to play? For some reason or another, I can’t seem to get them playing.

I have the same problem. I tried two browsers (Safari and Google Chrome). With iOS 26

Are you all using iOS? I wonder if they’ve removed some functionality or something in recent versions. Usually it’s that videos are playing without sound, that’s the case for all of you?

Yeah I’m using IOS myself. I used to sometimes get videos without sound but lately nothing seems to play at all.

Does it give some specific error?

Nope, I just tap on a video and it loads infinitely

does this video play? it’s been encoded with what should be well supported formats

I’ve been having the same problems. I’m also on IOS and that video doesn’t play for me either :((

For me I noticed it was happening a day before the thread was made. I thought it was something on my end or maybe the website was going through a little trouble, so I gave it a day and when I noticed it was still uncooperative I made the thread

I forget exactly when, but I did update the board software around that time. It could be that that update broke videos. I just updated to the latest version again, any change?

Still experiencing the issue as well. I’m on iOS if that helps at all. Using the chrome app.

I think either a discourse (most likely) or an iOS update broke video loading. It’ll probably be fixed when the devs notice they’ve broken something. Unfortunately there’s not much that can be done until then but I’ll regularly update the board and I guess it should be fixed sometime.
