…yes?
you’re subbed, the website is not
There is an error in the tool by putting in a YouTube link. Are you maybe able to fix that
dude you gotta chill lmao he literally said the site could be slow if there’s a high demand, just be patient
I will be patient and wait till its possible again to drop a youtube link in the tool
Due to demand, YouTube applies a temporary rate limit on the IP making the requests. I don’t know how long these last and YouTube doesn’t give me indication of the exact threshold to getting rate limited. This is out of the scope of the tool, and is something to deal with.
Thanks for the answer ps the tool is amazing
This tool is amazing, thanks for sharing!
Just a minor suggestion: is there any chance that you could add a plug in into the program so it can read sub-only Twitch VOD? I know that there are chrome plug-ins that allow that.
Thanks for the program
I would rather keep that up to yt-dlp, which is what I use for format extraction, metadata, and actually streaming the content and I would rather not have my own fork, as the tool automatically updates to the latest commit of yt-dlp daily to reduce issues. Maintaining my own fork with that feature is something I would rather not deal with.
The yt-dlp maintainers have expressed that they don’t want to support such a feature.
On the bright side, you are able to extract the m3u8 URLs that twitch uses yourself (the audio_only
format is recommended) and my tool will accept that link and process it for you. How you decide to get that m3u8 URL is totally up to you.
How to use the vod recover? You need the link or something?
Been using the site a lot and it’s been very good but for me currently it’s having issues going through YouTube videos compared to twitch vods. keeps showing an error saying the content is unavailable. Is this due to it being used a lot or just a bug in the code?
At first the site would work fine but I don’t get timestamps whatsoever now
Hey TC - does Kick work with this tool? Seem to get errors when I try and scan those videos, but LOVE the tool!!
Kick contracts a company which makes it unreasonably hard to scrape their page in an automated way, so its support is not great.
If you are savvy enough, you can get the m3u8 that kick is pulling the video streams from your browser devtools, you can take that and give it to sound search and it should work like any other video.
use this to get the m3u8 link
use this to download the mp4 file
this is what I do anyway
The m3u8 link twitch doesnt work for me. Some times you see on a streamer page no videos and there is a certain button that shows you the vods of the streams that are not saved on that page. When i click on it it loads the stream.
In the top right corner there is a button with m3u8 link. When i click on the m3u8 link of the vod and put it in the tool of sound search its says index.drv/ and doesnt scan the vod but gives after 5 seconds timestaps where there no burps are.
Does someone recognize it or have a solution so i can also scan still existing vods of a twitch stream through the m3u8 link that is not saved under videos on the homepage
Streams with copyrighted segments result in the stream being “off” by a certain duration. If you scrub around the segment you may be able to find it, however this behavior is specific to this and will be considered out of scope for changes
