I feel like some of the best burpers I have met have been diagnosed with ADHD or seem to have the symptoms of it. Anyone noticed this? Especially if it is not a sexual thing for them.
I can see that tbh. I have ADHD & I’m pretty good at burping lol
My girlfriend has ADHD and ever since i told her about my fetish her ability to burp has improved a lot.
I have ADHD and am a pretty good burper (I think), but unfortunately the other folks I know with ADHD don’t seem to be burpers or they manage to hold them back.
I have ADHD and i burp pretty well. Never thought about correlating the 2
Sooo I have ADHD, and I’m amazing at burping, have talked to a lot of other ADHD people with the fetish and often they are very good burpers.
My theory is basically; People with ADHD are often really good at learning new skills, as long as they can focus and keep up practice. But the focus and patience are a huge challenge with most things. However, if you’re practicing the thing you have a sexual fetish for, well, that’s an easy shortcut to the dopamine that your brain is often chasing, making it easier to consistently practice.
Just my layman’s theory.
It’s a very plausible theory!
I was too lazy to write a long reply, so I found a post with what I wanted to write, give or take.

One of those things, the sensory sensitivity (though I don’t experience it), is definitely directly attributed to neurodivergence though. I think it is interesting to pose a hypothesis and explore it.
I’ve suspected I have ADD (without hyperactivity) for a while now, and I’m going to take tests soon to find out if it’s true. And since I have a burp fetish, of course. I managed to learn to burp on command after several attempts. But I think Mememe’s article is interesting too, we can easily fall into confirmation bias.
I don’t think there’s an ADHD link, but there’s definitely a link with autism. My theory is that fetishes develop due to someone having a strong sexuality. Autistic men tend to be hypersexual, and so develop fetishes at a higher rate than the general population.
I am sometimes on the site “fantasyfeeder” (dating site for gainers, feeders and feedees and people who like other fat people) apparently there are a lot of autistic people on this site, after the kink of big bellies, feederism and burping are often linked.
I think on every single fetish site on the internet you’ll find a lot of autistic people.
I mean there’s nothing wrong with that either, but that’s how it is.
I just got diagnosed this year. There’s a known link that medications used to treat ADHD (Both stimulants and non-stimulants) have a tendency to cause GI issues such as excess acid/bile production, nausea, and bloating due to slowed digestion.
These factors all contribute to why ADHD people could be called over-achievers. ![]()
Ah, ofc u are adhd-ic
Doesn’t account for burpiness in the unmedicated folks, but I am sure a lot of psychotropic meds disturb the gut.
Even those who aren’t medicated have a lot of GI issues in general linked to something called dopamine dysregulation.
For the unmedicated folks, there’s usually a lot of anxious behaviors.
Talking too fast, nervous repetitive swallowing as well as ADHD people using carbonated energy drinks, sugary sodas, or alcohol to self medicate.
The way energy drinks or sodas caffeinate those who have normal brains it actually makes ADHD people more calm and relaxed.
Caffeine makes me anxious, actually. It didn’t when I was a teen. Serotonin has more of a GI effect than dopamine.
Supragastric burping or aerophagia due to anxiety might be an interesting attribution though.
