Advice for the sucking method

I’m new to the forums and I’m looking for help in learning how to perform the sucking in method. I’ve been reading up on some things to try to help me but I still struggle. I can’t seem to get the motion down. I can do the clicking before just fine, it’s just hard to get past the barrier. Another thing is that when I try to suck in air, I inhale and then swallow air instead of sucking. The swallowing has become a habit for me cause it’s how I learned to burp originally and have been doing so far. I’ll keep practicing and experimenting until I get the hang of it but as of right now it’s really hard for me to do. I’m really interested in controlling this method of burping so please if you have any advice I’d appreciate it

It sounds like you’re trying to master the sucking-in method to burp on command, but you’re having trouble with the technique. Here are some tips that might help:

  1. Relax and Get into Position: Sit upright and try to relax your upper body. The key is to keep your throat and chest loose. If you’re tense, it will be harder to get the air into your stomach.

  2. Lips and Tongue Position: Shape your lips as if you’re using a straw. Your tongue should be close to the roof of your mouth, near your teeth. This position helps you to draw in air in a controlled way.

  3. Slow Inhale Through the Mouth: Instead of quickly sucking in air, try doing it slowly and steadily. Imagine you’re pulling in a long, thin thread of air. Your goal is to direct the air into your stomach, not your lungs.

  4. Hold and Release: After you’ve drawn in some air, hold your breath for a moment to press the air into your stomach. Then relax your throat and let the air out, which should trigger the burp.

  5. Avoid Swallowing: Swallowing air is a different technique often used to burp on command, but it seems to be causing issues for you. Focus on pushing the air down without swallowing it.

  6. Practice, Practice, Practice: Like any new skill, it takes time and patience. Try to practice these steps regularly, but don’t overdo it. Any progress, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction.

  7. Start with Small Amounts of Air: In the beginning, it might help to start with just small amounts of air. This reduces the chance of swallowing it and helps you get a feel for the technique.

It might be helpful to practice in a quiet place without distractions so you can fully concentrate on the technique. Over time, you’ll develop a better sense of how to do it, and the motion will become more natural. Good luck!

Notice the path of the air. How the stomach fills up with air and the muscles around it and massage slighty your stomach and belly button with your fingertips. Start with empty stomach and some water.
Play around with pressure of your abdomen muscles.

Also start noticing the muscles. There you go!

No problem. The Phantom tutorial is detailed but can be a bit unclear at times. If you could document your progress, I’d be happy to offer specific feedback and help you through any challenging parts. This way, we can ensure you’re on the right path. Feel free to keep it private—how you choose to share is totally up to you. But sharing it directly would allow me to give you more focused support.

This guy really asked ChatGPT how to do the inhale method.

My usual tip is to lean forward, put your hands on your knees and pull in your stomach like you’re doing a stomach vacuum, then try to swallow air. If you practice doing this at some point you’re going to swallow way more than usual, which is the beginning of a bigger inhale.

Not exactly. I had some content in my native language that I wanted to translate and present in a more informative way, mainly to help others, while working on my texting skills. Sometimes when you ask someone for guidance, they might know how to do something instinctively but struggle to explain it clearly. It’s similar to how coaches often use mental training with their athletes before they even begin competing. Or, think about learning a new language—asking questions is often the best way to understand better, right? But hey, if you have any suggestions, I’m all ears. Wishing you a successful day.

PS:I used a method from a book in my language for motorcycle theory. Now back to topic.

Totally forgot to say, singing uses most of the same muscles as for burping.
