Part of my daily trawl for new material involves going to ManyVids and searching “burp” sorted by newest vids first. But for the past few weeks it seems that there has been very little new stuff. If you make this observation every day like me, it seems like nothing is uploaded for days on end, and when there is it’s still maybe a handful of clips every few days, so slow as molasses. Has anyone else noticed this? Any idea why? Have models collectively kinda quit making this content on that platform, or is the algorithm to sort by new vids somehow fucking them over? Maybe models who use the platform and also post on this forum have insight here.

I’ve noticed the same, also on C4S. The addition of new, quality content on commercial clip sites has been slowing down for years. Which is pretty much why I stick to customs from a handful of people I like.

I like everything you said except the last sentence. And now let me go off on a tangent.
While I use OF and other fan sub sites as a necessary evil, and they can give great content at times, overall I don’t disagree with the commonly held belief that it is a cancer. It’s a wild west, where models set whatever prices they like (up to truly extortionate amounts) both for the price of entry and then paywalled content. They can then abandon their profiles for extended periods of time and there is to all appearances literally nothing the platform admins (or at least on OF) will do to remedy grievances for the customer. This is said not just by us, but by mainstream porn fans and doubtlessly every other fans of every other fetish that those sites can cater for. Just look at the discussion on Adult DVD Talk, for example, to see what I mean. By contrast, clip stores tend to give some guarantee that what you see is what you’ll get (even though some clips have bad/no previews, or unrepresentative ones, there’s still always reviews from other customers to fall back on, especially the elaborate ones written on this forum). I wish both models/studios and other fans would recognise these concerns and drive a resurgence back to, at minimum, clip stores being on par with sub sites for amount of content on offer.

Anyway, I agree with you in terms of people abandoning their OF pages etc. There are ways to mitigate the risk (checking how many posts there are before you join or how many posts there have been since you left), but that’s not full proof and you really never know what you’ll get.
While my customs are fairly simple, there are a lot of nuances that I look for and two fetishes to cater to. I also like to build a great working relationship with the women, and in a lot of cases, I’ll still be able to order something from them even if they leave the scene. Perks of being a decent human being unlike a lot of people on the Internet these days (see TikTok as a prime example).
The glory days of people like Claire uploading content almost daily are over, sadly. Such is life. Also, the rampant, blatant piracy doesn’t help. Yes, there’s no way to fully stop piracy but the more fringe the kink, the more it’s pirated IMO.

I think all the normal reasons apply: porn, in general, is an industry that burns people hard and fast. Burping can also have consequences on, at least, dental health in the long term.
I think another factor, though, stems from the end of pandemic stimulus and, to a lesser degree, the flip to a high interest rate regime. Some people, including me, may have used some of the government stimulus on porn. I imagine some of that created buzz around performing that pierced into civilian consciousness and brought in talent that we’ve enjoyed the past two years. But, as the perceived income wanes with the renewal of student loan payments, and so on, our belt tightening serves as a signal to performers to focus on other demographics or to quit.
I think, while what you spoke about might be in play to an extent in very general terms, it’s really that the sort by newest vids feature was on the fritz when we search for the B-word. As @gs3silvino said, clicking on that tag reliably pulls the most recent videos and indeed many models are still producing content quite frequently.
