I think that power has a role in sex in general. For example, handcuffs, dirty talk, relatively common things like that, they’re usually power games of some sort. The type of power seems to be variable between each person, but the use of power generally in sex is something that’s common to most.
I guess we be equivocating over people who has an RP rape fetish and people who get off on actually raping peoples. Gollum! Gollum!

It’s a great fetish. I wish people were more accepting of fetishes in general but I can say that humans have become substantially more accepting to these sorts of things in the past 30 years than they ever were in the past. I feel like if fetishes were more accepted this would be a perfect thing for a relationship with someone who is attracted to burping and someone who just feels the need to burp excessively loud without holding back in the comfort of their own home. Normally said person would have to curb their disgusting habit but around someone like us it would be most welcomed. 
With that said, this is definitely a harmless fetish albeit an embarrassing one.
I totally agree with you! I have known about three people in my life, who have had similar fetishes specifically being choked, and at first I was like WTF 
Eventually I just got used to it after knowing several people that have had it… I try not to judge them on it, and I am well aware of my best friend being into that BDSM stuff where she roleplays rape scenes in fanfictions and such. Though I don’t think it’s entirely mentally healthy to not notice that these roleplays can eventually be dangerous if you’re not careful, we talk about this all the time- and I’d have to say that I’ve never met a “straight male” into rape roleplay which assumingly is entirely different than a woman who’s into it (unless she’s the aggressor- which my best friend is bi, so she switches as being passive then aggressive in the BDSM world).
Agree. I’ve noticed especially in the last five years fetishes have gone mainstream. The internet has normalized the notion of fetishes in general and the younger generation seems totally down with fetish acceptance. It’s even more welcoming than when I came of age in the early 2000s when you had to venture to the dark dirty corners of the internet for fetishy stuff. Now kids make memes about fetishes lol.
I think this kinda correlates with why I have the fetish. I’m a gay man, and It’s sort of a “power move” in that it really attracts me when guys can do things that I can’t or can do something better than I can, which in this situation is being able to burp more often and louder.
In some ways, I do feel lucky to be this way. I agree with much of what’s been said above about how this is perhaps an easier fetish to deal with than other extreme or obscure ones. Hell, there’s plenty of other non-vanilla things I’m into that are hard to find content for- I can’t help but feel grateful that my biggest turn-on is burping for that reason.
But that being said, it can be an inconvenience at times. Lord knows how many times I’ve gotten turned on at inopportune times before because someone around me (or in something I’m watching) just because somebody burps. As I’ve come to accept myself, that’s my only remaining gripe. Not much I can do about it, but oh well. 
And on a very different note, I’m glad I have this fetish because it brought me to this community. This is honestly one of the nicest, most accepting corners of the internet I’ve ever been a part of. Sure there’s a few bad eggs, but that’s the way things are in any sphere. What matters is that we support each other and (at least from what I’ve seen) we are able to call out bad behavior here when we see it and use that as an example of how not to act.
Honestly I’m glad I have this fetish. It allows the possibility of being pleasantly surprised every time I walk out the house. By it being a natural bodily function you could witness someone burping anywhere at anytime. Obviously their are downsides to this fetish such as hearing a family member or the sex you aren’t attracted to burp and of course someone finding out about your fetish. But for the most part having such a simple yet unique fetish is awesome. Even so, I would never tell anyone about having a burping fetish due to it being socially out of bounds. For instance, I have a friend who finds it gross when girls burp so imagine if he found out that I find it sexy when girls burp lol.
its not so great for me as my material is odd and strange as opposed to most people just watch porn to get their kicks. i cant relate to people who view pornography because sex does virtually nothing for me, i cant get off to body parts like breasts or genitalia, but instead im stuck with bellies. so how lucky we are is really a matter of how alien you feel compared to others.

I totally feel you… I feel like I’m one of the only people who isn’t into porn whatsoever, “my porn” is the burping fetish. I wouldn’t say that it’s an easy fetish to have either because it needs to always get fed with new material and I feel like it creates awkwardness in dating and we can indirectly put immediate pressure on our partners who normally don’t burp… The plus side is that it’s a pretty much harmless fetish to have.
