I got an email from the site showing a response to a comment that popped up on my phone. I used an alternate email for this account. How did this happen, How can I prevent it?

I think you must have the alternate email linked to the phone, either directly or because you set it up to forward emails to your primary email account. As for me, at least for the time being I’m trying to go without email notifications on my phablets for this reason of privacy among others.
