Hahaha Iâve wondered that, too. And how did he get his need satisfied? A question I have is: have burp fetishists always existed, or did it only become sexualized once burping became socially taboo, especially among women? In Europe, at least, burping was not always considered rude. I believe that the earliest recorded instance of burps as bad manners in Europe dates to an etiquette book written in the 1200s lol. In a culture where burping is not taboo, would a burp fetish exist? The answer to this question would help determine if there was a proverbial caveman with the fetish, or if the fetish is the product of modern manners.
The earliest instance of the burp fetish I know is in Marquis de Sadeâs 120 Days of Sodom, which was written in 1785. The passage is actually pretty hot imo:

Iâm sure fetishes have been around as long as sex has been around. lol. In what forms I wouldnât know, but I generally adhere to the idea that âIf it exists there is a fetish for itâ, and I would assume burping has existed long before we evolved into anything resembling a human.
I often also wonder if there is or has ever been an evolutionary component to it. Most people would assume there is no evolutionary advantage to being able to burp really well, and therefore no reason for this trait to be selected sexually. If you believe that then I guess it is just a random quirk of the human psychology, possibly influenced by factors in childhood or even in the womb. But maybe genetics do play some part and maybe there is some kind of reason this could be a sexually preferable trait. Thought the fact it seems to be so rare doesnât give my credence to those sort of theories.
The thing that often gets me is the fact that we are basically the first generation to be able to indulge this fetish in such an intense visual and audio way with endless videos online made exactly for the purposes of indulging this fetish. Of course that can be said about a lot of fetishes and just porn in general. But it does make me wonder what it would have been like to have this fetish 50/100/500/1000 years ago? Would you tell anyone, how would they react? What were the manners and social etiquettes of the day surrounding burping?
I can only assume that the frequency and ability of people of either sex to burp has remained relatively the same, possibly even more frequent and gross given the type of food and drink people ate back then. It was said that in medieval England the food was so bad that stomach and digestion issues were essentially a part of life. So I imagine frequent burping was common place. I guess it would also depend largely on social status and class, I think up until very recently (the last 50 years) burping has been generally considered rude in most cultures and exceptionally rude for a female. So I canât imagine those in high society allowing themselves to burp around others. But I could imagine some farmers daughter swilling ale with the men after a hard days work and occasionally letting one slip.
Then again I could be completely wrong, I mean 500 years ago people didnât have toilets, bath often or care much about hygiene in general. The streets and rivers were sewers, everyone stunk, you ate with your fingers and the idea that any of this was rude or unacceptable was completely foreign. So it could be just as easy to assume that something as relatively mild and unmessy as a burp may not have even been on the grossness radar of most people back then, just a natural bodily function generally ignored and accepted.
Either way it must have been a very different experience for anyone with such a fetish compared to us today. Another thing to point out is the unfortunate fact that women were essentially controlled by men sexually and sex/pleasing your husband was considered an essential duty, knowing this I would assume that any man back then with a burping fetish would have no issue finding a women to burp for him for sexual pleasure. A lot of men also payed for sex and attended brothels regularly so I would assume if they wanted to satisfy their fetish it would be as simple as finding a female with such an ability and then paying the appropriate fee. We like to think of our modern world as very sexually driven and diverse with a general acceptance of fetishes and sexual differences⌠But I kinda think that beyond 500 years ago the world was much more sexually driven, much more sexually diverse and the oddities of sex and all itâs fetishes were acceptable or even encouraged to a certain degree, these people had nothing but work, taxes, church, sickness, war and death to look forward to in life, the one time they could have any sort of individual freedom and intense positive feelings was when sex was involved. I highly doubt anyone with such a strong fetish would be able to deny themselves that indulgence their entire lives, regardless of what people might think about it.
On a final note, I wouldnât begin to guess who the very first burp queen was, but I can imagine a strong woman such as Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England who was slave to no man, could and would burp whenever the hell she wanted, and the same goes for any number of strong and powerful women in history. It is well known that Kings and powerful men throughout history have had no shame when it comes to manners such as this so why should it have been any different for a powerful woman, what might be considered normal etiquette rarely applies to those who hold such power.

If the internet didnât exist I wouldnât have even known I like burping so who knows. If women never burped loud or that much around you, you wouldnât develop the fetish. I imagine women were more reserved traditionally until the mid late 1900s. Maybe more liberated women allowed for more burping without it being taboo around that time period, and thatâs probably when the fetish developed for more men. Mid to late 1900s, my guess.

I like deep conversations like this. Being part of the burp fetish community for around 18 years now, the internet has made me feel that itâs not such a strange fetish and there is a lot more of us out there than i thought, back in the day it was hard to find much online and only a couple small yahoo groups. I think if I could go back in time I would have been more open about it with certain people especially female partners. Who knows what this fetish will be like in another 10-20 years, Iâd say it will be more and more accepted and catered to which is a good thing, maybe higher profile people will speak out about it, as the burp fetish is something thatâs been a huge part of my life and I love the community and everything about it. Watching the community grow over the years, it almost feels like a movement to me, someone with a huge burp fetish like me I feel as though burping is supposed to be sexual and would love to see it become the norm, itâs something I fantasize about occasionally, imagine scientists coming out and saying something like theyâve discovered burping though a bodily function can also be used as a mating call between men and woman and for arousal during sex including oral sex.
