Onlyfans etiquette

My main question is this: As a buyer, when you’re discussing custom content with a provider, do you generally tip them up front or do you require that they post the vid as an unlockable? Or do you even do some combination like half up front, half afterwards?

I think I may have lost an opportunity because someone I subbed to wanted to be paid up front, and I politely insisted that that she post it into our chat as an unlockable video so that it would wind up under my “Purchased” tab on the OF homepage. The thing is my time is limited, I’m pretty unfocused and may have missed something, but I think that if you tip them up front and then just trust them to post the vid to your chat, you will always have to go back to that chat conversation to watch the vid. In one case, I actually lost some videos that I paid for, not because I accidentally deleted the chat conversation, but because the site somehow scrubbed them when she decided to close her account.

Well there’s a workaround if watching them from the chat is a hassle- screen record or download them with special software. I had the exact same scenario you describe play out, with her account gone and so too our chat history, so I was so glad I had the foresight to grab what I bought off of her in chat.

Further, it’s probably worth opening a claim of complaint with OnlyFans if a creator account closes means that we lose stuff that we individually paid for. It kinds undermines the whole idea of the brand related to the name- only a fan like you had paid for the content, which implies some kind of privilege(s) for the fans, and one would expect that one of the privileges would include maintaining access to what you paid for after the account which sold you it disappears. Maybe not so much for stuff which is on their profile (free or behind the subscription paywall), but definitely for PPV videos on the profile and in chats. OnlyFans would probably describe the scrubbing of videos as a feature, not a bug, but fans are likely to see it in opposite terms, and at the end of the day the customer is always right.

Would also be interesting to see if content creators agree with this line of reasoning.

Just wanted to give my two cents, I generally don’t mind sending a copy of the requested video offsite, via mediafire or Google drive , etc for maybe just an extra tip or something. A lot of women prefer to be paid upfront, but I’ve expected that outside onlyfans where you can’t sent an unlockable message, however, they could be trying to avoid someone paying and reversing the payment simultaneously…? I don’t know if waiting a few days keeps it from happening so easily, but a fair amount it creators have had content probably screen recorded / taken without permission, and then reversed the payment and deleted the account or something. The longer you work with someone the more trust that comes for sure so things may change over time if you work together well. (So work with her preference in the beginning and she’ll likely become more flexible)

Anyway, I don’t necessarily agree that a girls content should remain if her page is gone as there is likely a reason they’re gone; however, hopefully if they leave, they give notice and fans can discuss keeping videos long term and the plans for that. I know it’s a double edged sword but I imagine if I deleted my page I would not want the content to remain accessible and it’s probably something to do with onlyfans storing that information in their website … they already don’t like adult content I doubt they wanna keep more than they have to. Lol
