People who DON'T like the excuse me

After discussing what people think of saying “excuse me” after a burp, I learned that it depends on the situation. But are there people who ABSOLUTELY DISLIKE it when it’s said in any context?

Like, one could say saying excuse me after a really big burp, in any situation, ruins the mood because the person is apologizing instead of owning it?
Or is it just pointless?

I say pardon me after a burp if I’m in company, because my burps can be unexpectedly gross-sounding. Or I just tap my chest as a non-verbal way of saying pardon.
