Should the burp fetish be normalised?

Listening to a podcast recently and the main aim to “normalise” the fart fetish but should we be doing the same? it might be a net benefit as we wouldn’t have to be skulking around waiting for the next belch to pass someone’s lips. it may also stop or slow down the creeps from doing the creepy horny shit they keep doing.
Please be civil and try not to fight

Impossible to normalize something that’s not normal. It’s a very small, concentrated niche. You can’t just tell the vast majority of people that something is normal and expect them to blindly go along with it

To be honest, I like it being something that only a few amount of people know. making it well-known can make a lot of people uncomfortable about burping. And no the creeps would never stop. No matter the fetish, there will always be creeps, and there are already tons of creeps who don’t have any of unusual fetishes at all. A fetish never was a thing to share for just anyone you meet in the first place, unless you have some problems about it you wanna talk about and need advice. That’s what I think. Question is, does it really need to be normalized? By that you mean people not judging it? or being completely supportive towards it?

I think a bit of both tbh. support and not judging and looking at it with a level of curiosity I guess

I don’t know about the “curiosity part” though. For example, I know that feet fetish is a thing for years, but I never actually searched anything about it, because it never got me that interested to know why they had such uncommon kink (not so uncommon to be honest). The same could be for other people without our kink, they can just not care enough to actually ask anything or to be interested in it, since they don’t really understand what’s the “thing” about it. A few people I told about it were just like “Well, you do you, to each their own” But didn’t actually asked anything about it, because it tend to be a trivial matter to them.

The foot fetish seems to be normalized and that causes women to randomly not want to show their feet on camera in any circumstance. That would not help things at all.

my counterpoint to this is that, at least on sites like Twitch, burping pretty much has been normalized among women streamers. a lot of them even makes jokes after they burp about people clipping and making compilations. It’s a bit different than feet because a burp is a chronic bodily function and some girls take pride in their burp abilities, and guys tend to shower them with praise after they do it, whether they have the fetish or not.

i think the foot fetish is kind of close to be normalised. I think sex as a hobby itself had to be a niche at some point in history. Now it’s a niche to have sex just for reproduction. Then more specialised techniques spread. Blowjob or cunnilingus in gerenal. Liking feet is probably just something on the line to be normalised. There are already some, who publically adress it (thinking of Quentin Tarantino)

So the more fetishes in general are accepted by a majority, the closer more and more niche things can be normalised.

if you get this,

I honestly hope it never does because then all content would be pretty much paid I think since burps aren’t as harmless as feet. Still see lots of girls post feet pics knowingly or unknowingly of the fetish (most likely knowingly cause feet is very common), but I think burps would be more paid to access

Sharing an old and very long comment since we’ve had this discussion before

I do think Tarantino managed to do that in that way because Feet is way more discreet than burps, and probably way less scandalous. Not saying there isn’t a way to normalize it though.

In my opinion, it may not be that rare, because I have a friend in real life who is also attracted to it. It’s just that it’s embarrassing and people don’t want to talk about it.

I think the burp fetish is one of the most logical fetishes to exist. Think why burping is a taboo. Burping is smelly and loud. Imagine the people you run into, all the people in the world burping freely. Sure we might find some of it enjoyable but a lot of it would be annoying. It is a sort of intimacy that can disturb the peace. But it is nuanced. Every person is a human with a digestive system, we all shit burp fart. Burping is the least extreme of these ie most pallatable. Perhaps we yearn to be accepted for this and seek out a person we love to indulge in eachothers intimacy, validate eachothers humanity. But we don’t have the capability, nor do we want to, to accept every person’s bodily functions. I think we have within us the experience of sharing our intimacy on a non sexual level and a sexual level. To be accepted because we burp, and to be loved because we burp. A lot of people enjoy their partner’s burping without having a fetish. It is a more interesting story than feet. Feet are not as intimate as burping.

i think that the scandalous part (or the taboo) is the reason a burp fetish is way down the line to be normalised, while feet are close

I wouldn’t say it’s been normalized on Twitch(at least not from a fetish standpoint). There are streamers who embrace the fetish sure but most still have no clue about it and when they find out they either laugh about how bizarre it is or call it weird. Most streamers who burp a lot just view things from a sense of Burps = funny/quirky(which is how a lot of non burp fetishists view burps). That’s usually the vibe with frequent burpers until fetish guys come through calling it hot and turn the vibe sexual.

true, although i’ve definitely seen girls lean into it even more after finding out some people liked it. but i will say in a good majority of cases, they do just find it funny, or get a kick out of people’s reactions

Writing thriller books is my hobby. Maybe I try to publish it someday. I identify with my protagonist (he also has Aspergers like me) to some extent and I once thought about introducing such a nuance (attraction to girls’ burps), but I thought it was too personal and revealing of me. If it were more popular or simply more widespread, it would be possible to talk about it. My books would simply be read by, for example, parents. That would be embarrassing. I really like Tarantino’s films and sometimes I wonder if he and Rodriguez haven’t just broken the taboo of foot fetish.
