Tricks to burp? Vinegar, sparkling water, etc

Anyone got any nice tricks to produce huge burps? I’ve heard some people swear by sparkling water, stuff like that. What things make huge belches?

Coke and Pepsi can produce massive belches

Pepsi and Coke make me have huge burps, but because I cut down on caffeine recently, so most soda’s a no go for me. There is, however, sparkling water I rarely have and caffeine-free soda, which doesn’t produce the best burps sadly.

In terms of drinking:

  • Vinegar works very well. Put one teaspoon of vinegar into a cup of water and drink it - you will end up burping a lot, and they will be big ones. (That’s why vinegar is often recommended to relieve indigestion. It helps you to burp up all the discomfort in your stomach).
  • Sparkling water also works well, at least in my experience. If you don’t like plain sparkling water, try flavoured water.
  • Beer is also a really good option.

In terms of eating:

  • Onions and mushrooms are well-known to cause wind - and I tend to get very burpy after eating them. Sweetcorn, cabbage, tomatoes and brussel sprouts have the same effect.
  • I am not lactose intolerant, but ice cream, cheese, etc. can produce some good burps. I know that probably isn’t the case for everyone, however, it’s worth a try.
  • Apples, bananas and watermelon are useful as well.
  • Any food that is fried or greasy is very good in this regard. Doughnuts, fried chicken, French fries, fast food, and spring rolls are just a few that I can think of off-hand - but there are many more.
  • Try eating a very big meal and see how your body reacts to it. The fuller your stomach is, the less control you have over it - you will automatically burp a lot and there’s nothing you can do about it!

That’s just my 2-cents’ worth, but I hope it helps!
