I stumbled upon this strange website for “Burp Fest 2026.” Burp Fest purports to be the “world’s premier burping organization” and claims that it has burping contest booths set up at beer festivals across the US. Strangely, though, the social media pages associated with this organization (@burpfest4life) all have 0 posts, 0 followers, 0 following. I don’t know what to make of this. Short of attending one of these festivals, I don’t know how to verify if this is a real thing, but my instincts are telling me that it’s not. It kind of reminds me of the “World Burping Federation,” which is a strange organization that old timers might know to pop up every 10 years or so. (The WBF hosted the burping contest where Tim Janus won a world record for longest burp, but there’s really no info available about the WBF online.)
