This is just a question I’ve been wondering about, because I’ve (obviously) always been fascinated by guys who can burp so loudly. It’s incredible; I don’t understand how they do it or why, while if I eat like them, I barely let out a tiny burp.
I think it must be partly related to the speed at which we eat, the amount of air we swallow with the food, certain types of food, our health, or the state of our stomach, etc.
But I think there must be something else too. What makes someone burp so loudly, and louder than others? What do you think?

It could be for a lot of reasons but a lot of it is just practice combined with natural talent. Even if you aren’t great at burping if you just let them out whenever you feel like it without caring you will eventually get better. For me the loudness of a burp also seems to directly increase the more air I push out at once and the more force I push it with. It’s why a lot of insanely loud burps are also pretty short in my own experience. Outside of more frequent burping other stuff I’d recommend to get louder is to work on your core strength and ability to open your throat. Core strength for the ability to push air out harder and opening your throat to get more air through at once.

How does one open their throat?
I’d like an answer on this as well. How exactly do I open up my throat? People always say that’s the key to learning how to burp on command but I’ve never understood exactly how.

I’ll keep that in mind, thanks for the advice.

I think you need to dilate the inside of the throat and esophagus; maybe if you try pretending to yawn, it looks a bit like that.

The way I was taught is to swallow a bunch of air over and over quickly then push it out with your stomach

The easiest way to practice is probably going to be to chug something easy to drink like room temperature water. There’s other exercises to do it but I got significantly better at it through chugging/shotgunning in college.

That’s how I learned. It’s a lot of fun. You’re great by the way.
